Privacy Policy

Local Tattoo Shops (the "Site") is operated by ColabContent LLC ("we," "us," "our"), a Massachusetts limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Site and its tools, how we use that information, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Intended audience

This Site is intended for adults 18 years of age or older. Tattoo services are for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, please contact us at the address below and we will delete it.

2. What we collect

Claim form

When a studio owner submits a listing claim, we collect: business name, contact name, email address, optional phone number, optional website URL, tier of interest, and any message you include. This information is submitted voluntarily.

MatchMarker tool

When you use our AI style-matching tool, we collect: the text description you provide, any reference photo you optionally upload, and your approximate location (coordinates and travel radius if you share them). Location and demand data are logged in anonymized form to improve matching quality. Reference photos are used only to process your request and are not stored long-term.

Server logs and standard web data

Like any web server, our hosting provider automatically records IP addresses, browser type, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps. This data is used for security, debugging, and aggregate analytics.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), which sets cookies to measure traffic and usage patterns. GA4 data is aggregated and does not identify you personally by name. You can opt out of GA4 tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings.

3. How we use your information

  • To operate the directory and respond to listing claims and inquiries.
  • To match users to studios through the MatchMarker AI tool.
  • To understand how the Site is used and improve it (analytics).
  • To send transactional emails related to your claim or inquiry.
  • To send marketing communications, only if you have opted in. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by emailing us at hello@local-tattooshops.com.

4. Third-party processors

We share information with the following third-party service providers solely to operate the Site. We do not sell your data to any of them for their own marketing purposes.

  • Resend - transactional email delivery (claim confirmations and inquiry responses).
  • Anthropic - AI style matching. Text descriptions and optional reference images you submit to MatchMarker are processed by Anthropic's API to generate style suggestions.
  • DataForSEO and public Google business listings - directory data sourcing. We use these sources to compile and maintain studio listings from publicly available information.
  • Google Analytics 4 - usage analytics (see Cookies section above).
  • Our hosting provider - server infrastructure for the Site.

5. Business listings notice

Directory listings on this Site are compiled from publicly available sources, including business directories and public Google listings. Listings are informational only and do not constitute an endorsement of any studio, artist, or service. If you are a business owner and wish to claim, correct, or request removal of your listing, please email us at hello@local-tattooshops.com.

6. We do not sell personal information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing or commercial purposes.

7. Data retention

We retain claim form submissions for as long as needed to process the claim and maintain the verified listing. Server logs are retained for a limited period as required for security and operational purposes. You may request deletion of your information at any time (see Section 9).

8. Legal bases for processing

Where applicable, our legal bases for processing personal information are: performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps (processing listing claims), legitimate interests (operating and improving the directory, analytics), and consent (optional marketing communications and optional location sharing).

9. Your rights and choices

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@local-tattooshops.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. To opt out of marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or contact us directly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
